18th January

Today was the day I was supposed to begin the bone marrow transplant. As you may have seen in earlier blogs, the hospital has delayed this by a week because of scheduling issues.

A recent report stated that some 100 million Christians in various parts of the world are persecuted for their faith. They are richly deserving of our deepest admiration and our support. Below is an article from the Catholic Voice (27th Dec – 9th Jan) about the  martyrdom of 21 Coptic Christian men by Islamic State terrorists. The photo is a screen shot taken from a video released by IS.

One way to render material support to such Christians is through groups such as Aid to the Church in Need http://www.acnireland.org/ or http://www.acnuk.org/. A way to render spiritual support would be to dedicate to them a decade of the Rosary – or just a Hail Mary – every day.
