Today’s gospel is Matt 11:25-27
Jesus exclaimed, ‘I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, for hiding these things from the learned and the clever and revealing them to little children. Yes, Father, for that is what it pleased you to do. Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, just as no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.’

- In today’s Gospel Jesus exclaims that His Father in heaven reveals His Wisdom and Truth to those with child-like simplicity and humility of heart. This disposition opens us to God’s grace and truth.
- Thus, intellectual pride shuts our minds from the love and Truth of God. It is also the root of all vices and makes us cold and indifferent to God and people and reality in all situations.
- Do we use our intellect to justify our secular and self-centred ways of living? Or do we use it to deepen our love for Jesus, through our creative fidelity?
- Do you submit to God’s Word with simple trust and humility? Ask for the grace of child-like simplicity so that we can love and know God personally.
