The following Irish Catholic article caught my attention this morning whilst having breakfast. Firstly it reflects my own experience of being diagnosed with cancer back in 2013. Secondly, I have often quoted the line from Leonard Cohen about only seeing Jesus when one is drowning. It is indeed similar to the First Beatitude: Blessed are the poor in spirit (those in touch with their vulnerability and need to be rescued), the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. Thirdly I had the privilege of concelebrating a funeral with the author earlier this summer. By way of a comment, I believe that the darkness of a Hilary Clinton presidency would be no better than that of Donald Trump given her support for abortion up til birth.
