Since Jackie’s tragic death last week, I find most conversations with parishioners invariably drift into trying to make sense of what has happened. Allied to this is a sense of sadness and helplessness to do anything about it. The reading from MIDDAY PRAYER (Isaiah 12:2) points us to the answer if we ponder it sufficiently.
See now, he is the God of my salvation. I have trust now and no fear, for the Lord is my strength, my song, he is my salvation.
RESPONSORY: Remember us, Lord, for the love you bear your people.– Come to us as a saviour.
